The World's Greatest Crisis: Ignoring God's Word and the Savior, We Desperately Need

Introduction: A World in Crisis

Today, the world faces unprecedented challenges, including violence, injustice, natural disasters, pandemics, and social unrest. But behind it all is a deep spiritual crisis - the glaring lack of regard for God's Word, His Commandments, and His Sabbath. Modern people are so caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday living, striving ceaselessly to please men, be acclaimed, and rise up the ladder of success, that they have simply forgotten to resort to the Word of God. And it goes without saying how Satan rejoices in such circumstances, taking humankind further and further away from the only truth, wisdom, and salvation in Jesus Christ, the Savior of humanity.

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge” (Hosea 4:6). Lack of familiarity with the Word, combined with an embrace of worldly systems and doctrines, has the consequence of making us blind to the fallacies. People have become so consumed by the daily “rat race” that they have forgotten where validation actually comes from; God is the only point at which it should be derived. That is exactly where Satan's trap is: keeping man busy and concerned with earthly affairs, he manages to keep people blind to the truth and to the Savior who can save them from their misery.

Understanding the Crisis: God's Word is Ignored

Jesus Himself declared, You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God” (Matthew 22:29 ESV) In our time today, people have forgotten to read and reflect upon the Bible, which is the Word of God. They are too engrossed in human efforts: successful career ladders, material accumulation, or at best, people's admiration. What they often don't contemplate is the fact that it is disregard for God's Word that breeds all the gross maladies facing humanity. The Savior, Jesus Christ, said through John the Baptist and Moses that human rejection of God's Commandments and His Sabbath is why people suffer.

If we do not go to God's Word, we open ourselves to Satan. We are led astray by false ideologies, destructive ways, and beliefs, that mislead. Just as Jesus warned against following religious customs and human traditions, if one does not embrace Him, and understand that if we fail to honor God's Word, we invite vulnerability upon ourselves. The Scriptures declare that Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation, yet people refuse to go to Him, instead, they turn to everything else except the Word of God (Jesus) for their solutions.

The Need for Jesus: Why the Savior is More Relevant Than Ever

The more the world struggles, the more urgent is the need for Jesus (The Word of God). The problems that beset us - war, terrorism, economic inequality, pandemics, and breakdowns in society, are all symptoms of a deeper spiritual problem: the rejection of Jesus Christ as Savior of mankind. Only through Jesus can we find peace amidst chaos and healing for our brokenness.
People in today's world search for solutions to their problems in politics, philosophy, or social movements. However, only through Jesus Christ does true change, lasting peace, and eternal salvation come. He is the answer to every crisis, whether it be personal, national, or global. Jesus Christ does not offer temporary relief but eternal salvation and restoration for our souls and the world.

God's Word is not an ancient text bound together, but a living, breathing source of guidance and strength to us today. The Bible contains the wisdom we so desperately need in times of crisis. The Word of God gives us timeless truths that can help people overcome spiritual emptiness and confusion in our modern world. When we immerse ourselves in the Bible, we allow God’s wisdom to direct our lives, shield us from Satan’s schemes, and help us find our way back to the Savior, Jesus Christ. Remember, Jesus is the Word that became flesh and came to this world for our Salvation. So the solution to human problems can come from the Word of God!

These are the world's crises that are calling us to return to the Word of God and let our lives be patterned after His Word. The Word of God gives answers to life's big questions and offers us a moral compass through which we can rightly face the problems of this world. It is in times of uncertainty, that the Word of God alone has provided man with lasting hope, clarity, and direction.

Recognizing the Crisis: Signs of a World Without Jesus

What's happening in the world today should be an eye-opener to humanity-from the increasing violence to economic uncertainty, from disasters in nature to the increasing social stress, the writing is on the wall: the world is in crisis because it has turned away from Jesus Christ. The refusal to adhere to God's Word creates a spiritual vacuum that gives rise to such crises.

As Jesus himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). To the degree that humanity rejects Jesus as the truth, it opens itself to confusion, division, and chaos. The world's leaders can put forth solutions, but without Jesus, those solutions will always fall short. Only the absence of Jesus-along with the wisdom of God found in the Bible-explains the suffering of the world.

The Path to Salvation: Accepting Jesus as Savior The path to salvation begins with acknowledging the crisis and the need for Jesus Christ as the only solution. It involves repentance, faith, and a commitment to follow Jesus. But this is not an event, it is a lifelong journey in dependence on God's Word for wisdom, strength, and guidance.

As we turn to Jesus and His Word, we are not only saved from the eternal consequence of our sins, but we are given a whole new perspective on life. God reconciles through Jesus, and through Him, He provides power to overcome trials in this world.

Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Amidst the ocean of conflict, the rest that Jesus offers is not an escape, but a perpetual peace that surpasses human understanding.

How Do We Overcome the Crisis?

The only way to overcome the crisis of this world is through a return to God's Word and embracing truth. Here are some ways we can begin:
Give priority to the Bible: Take out time daily to read and reflect on God's Word. The Bible is the only source of wisdom, truth, and life.
Repent and Seek Jesus: Recognize those areas whereby we have deviated from the Living God and His Word. It is through repentance that one returns to Jesus as Savior, allowing the change of heart.
Living by God's Word: Putting into practice in our lives the teachings of the Bible. Allow the Word of God to be your guide to lead your life through decisions, actions, and relationships.
Share the Gospel: Spread the word of salvation through Jesus Christ. The world needs to hear that there is hope in Jesus, and only through Him can we find true peace.

Conclusion: Call to Action

But the greatest crisis confronting the world is man's ignorance of the Word of God and the rejection of Jesus Christ, Who saves humanity. Yet there's hope. Repentance and faith in Jesus can give us the capability to override the spiritual crisis the world is facing. The Word of God gives the wisdom and guidance needed to conduct our lives through the chaos and ultimately find peace.

It is now time for us to turn back to the Bible, to seek the Word of God for wisdom, to accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, and to let His truth change our lives. Only then will we be able to experience the salvation and healing which the world so desperately needs. Taste and see that the Lord is good, says Psalm 34:8. His mercy is waiting to heal us, if only we will humble ourselves and return to Him.
