"THE GREAT FALLING AWAY: SIGNS OF THE END TIMES IN POLITICS AND FAITH"
The Great Falling Away: A Global Phenomenon of the Left and Right
Understanding the Spiritual Divide:
The Left and Right
Throughout history, ideological divides have shaped societies, but from a
biblical perspective, these divides can be seen as spiritual battles between
righteousness and unrighteousness. Jesus illustrated this distinction when He
said that, on the Day of Judgment, the blessed would stand on His right, while
those condemned would be placed on His left (Matthew 25:33). This separation is
not arbitrary—people consciously choose their position through their actions,
beliefs, and spiritual alignment.
The Leftists and Their Predestined
Unrighteousness
At Calvary, Jesus was crucified between two criminals—one on His left and
the other on His right. This powerful imagery reveals a deeper spiritual
reality. The leftist leaders of that time deliberately placed Jesus among
criminals to falsely equate Him with sinners. Yet, even in His suffering, Jesus
dispensed divine judgment. The criminal on His left mocked Him, while the one
on His right repented, recognizing Jesus' innocence and divinity. To the
repentant man, Jesus declared, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me
in paradise” (Luke 23:43). This moment reflects how those who humbly seek
forgiveness receive salvation, while those who reject Christ remain in
condemnation.
The Sheep and the Goats: A World
Divided
In today’s world, this divide is clearer than ever. Societies are
fragmented along ideological lines—those who stand for biblical truths and
those who reject them. Scripture warns of a time when families will turn
against each other, as prophesied in Luke 12:53, “Father will be
divided against son and son against father, mother against daughter and
daughter against mother…” This growing ideological and spiritual conflict
reflects the Great Falling Away (2 Thessalonians 2:3), where many
abandon the faith in favor of worldly deceptions.
Truth has become subjective, shaped by personal perceptions rather than
divine revelation. But as believers, we know that true wisdom comes from God. Proverbs
9:10 states, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and
knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Thus, standing firm in
biblical truth is essential amid the growing deception.
The Word of God: Our Standard and
Lighthouse
The root of this deception can be traced back to the Garden of Eden,
where Satan distorted God’s truth, leading Adam and Eve astray. Today, Satan
continues to deceive through false ideologies, distorting morality and
righteousness.
To discern truth, we must rely on God’s Word as our ultimate standard.
The Bible serves as a lighthouse, guiding us through the stormy seas of moral
confusion. Psalm 119:105 affirms, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and
a light to my path.” Without Scripture as our foundation, we risk being
misled by worldly philosophies.
However, even those called by God can be deceived. Jesus emphasized this
in John 6:44, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me
draws them.” This highlights the importance of divine guidance in seeking
truth and salvation.
Biblical Steps to Stay Right with God
To remain steadfast in faith, the Bible provides two key principles:
1. Seek God and His
Truth Wholeheartedly – Jesus is the ultimate truth (John 14:6). We must earnestly seek Him,
just as the repentant criminal on the cross did.
2. Trust in God
Completely – Faith should be unwavering, like that of a child (Matthew 18:3). Doubt
opens doors to deception, but true faith anchors us in Christ.
The Right and Left: Symbols of Heaven
and Hell
Our choices have eternal consequences. Jesus made it clear that those
aligned with His righteousness will inherit His kingdom, while those who reject
Him will face destruction. The leftist worldview promotes ideologies that
conflict with biblical teachings, embracing liberalism, globalism, and moral
relativism. The Bible warns of such deception in 1 Timothy 4:1, “The
Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow
deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.”
Many who claim Christianity but preach prosperity gospel and worldly
success have strayed from the true gospel. 2 Corinthians 11:4 warns
against false teachings, urging believers to test all doctrines against the
Bible.
The Leftist Mentality and Its
Consequences
Leftist ideologies often advocate for a one-world government and social
structures that contradict biblical principles. The push for globalism aligns
with biblical prophecy about the rise of the Antichrist, who will deceive many
(Revelation 13:7-8). Their alliance with various anti-God movements strengthens
their influence, yet scripture assures us that truth will prevail.
Despite their attempts, the left cannot succeed unless right-believing
Christians remain silent. When believers fail to confront evil, it gains
ground. Ephesians 6:12 reminds us, “For our struggle is not against
flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the
powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the
heavenly realms.”
A Call to Action: Defend the Faith
Believers must remain vigilant. Like David stood against Goliath, we must
courageously confront deception with unwavering faith. Jesus warned against
complacency in Matthew 25:1-13, where the foolish virgins were
unprepared for the bridegroom’s return.
The time to act is now. If you find yourself aligned with ideologies
contrary to Scripture, reconsider before it’s too late. Hebrews 3:12
warns, “See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful,
unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.”
Final Warning and Encouragement
The falling away is happening, but we are called to remain steadfast. 2
Thessalonians 2:3 states, “Let no one deceive you in any way, for that
day will not come unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness
is revealed.” This is a clear call to hold on to the faith and resist
spiritual deception.
Let us, as the body of Christ, stay faithful and prepare for His return. Revelation
3:11 reminds us, “I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no
one will take your crown.” May we be found worthy on that day, standing
firm in righteousness on the right side of Christ.
